I just had a crazy idea that I thought I would share with you.
Are you ready?
November is here, which means the holidays are upon us. That realization yesterday sent my mind all aflutter just thinking about all of things upcoming that will need to be done. Gatherings to plan…shopping to do…cards to send…gifts to wrap…scrapbooking retreat to work on (or perhaps that’s just me).
You know the drill – we start our plan of attack, making lists and phone calls and plans to handle it all. These plans then put pressure on us to get everything right, and as the end days of 2009 start to draw near, we rush around in a panic.
Here’s where the crazy idea comes in…
What if we just don’t?
Don’t let the idea of the holidays send your heart racing – instead look forward to knowing you’ll be with your loved ones.
Don’t feel sick about getting your cards out on time – remember that the people you send them to will be thrilled to hear from you whether it’s Dec 1 or 31.
Don’t rush your way through decorations – take time to savor and remember where each one came from and welcome it back into your life like an old friend you haven’t seen in a while.
Do find some time to relax in front of the fire and remember what the upcoming season is all about.
Do treat yourself to a Starbucks Creme Brulee Latte, Peppermint Mocha or Eggnog Latte. They're back, and they're heavenly.
I myself am determined to enjoy each day of the next two months for what they are to me – a celebration of Love from God and for my family and friends. Sure, I may have to remind myself of that here and there, but I think it’ll be worth it. And whenever I can, I'll share those moments with you.

Thanks for an awesome reminder of what the focus CAN be this holiday season, and I for one am going to try really hard to remember just that!
