Don't take out your contacts before you find your old pair of glasses that you wear probably twice a year.
I'm the genius who did that tonight, thanks to the random piece of something small and tiny that attached itself to my contact and forced me to get them out quickly. I'm over-overdue for a new prescription, and I confess I'm actually on my last and only pair of contacts. When these bite the bullet, I'm up the proverbial creek. What's stopping me is part laziness and part not wanting to take any time off of work after having been out sick recently.
Here I sit, hunched over and squinting at the computer, hoping that spellcheck will pick up on all of my mistakes.
Oh, and regretting losing my temper as I tore the bathroom apart trying to find the darn glasses. Rick was pretty unresponsive until I started hollering, "I can't see!!" That brought him and both the kids out of bed running to see what I was blinded by. Perhaps "I can't see" isn't wholly accurate. I had to explain to the kids that everything was fuzzy.
"Like a bear?" asked Noelle.
That brought me out of my funk. I re-explained that it was more like I had water in my eyes and everything was blurry. They still found that amusing and went back to bed.
Thanks kids. By the way, Mommy's still blind, but you get some sleep!

Two words for you: lasik surgery. It's a beautiful thing! (If you have vision insurance at least!)
I hope you have found your glasses by now!
I had lasik surger a few years ago and I LOVE it. It was so worth it.
Like a bear?! So cute! When I went to the chiropractor, I gave the lady my glasses as I went face down on the table for the heat/massage thing. When I got up and went in to see the dr., I was like, "Man, my vision is really screwed up. What is going on with my contacts." It was only when I walked out to the car did I realize I had forgotten my glasses!!
Oh my goodness - 'like a bear' - love that!
I want Lasik!!!
LOL!! Like a bear! that is adorable!
I'm with Heather - gotta go the Lasik route.
But at least you know how to get their attention when you need it!
