Amazing Morning

I awoke this morning to the strangest sound -- rain! Nowhere in this week's forecast was rain mentioned or even hinted at. Imagine my surprise when I realized it was absolutely pouring out! As I climbed out of bed, there was a flash of lightning through the blinds, and just as I reached them to look out, the thunder boomed. It was spectacular! We don't get a lot of thunder and lightening in the bay area, so it was a treat for this storm lover.

When I went out into the family room, Simba was laying by the back door with his ears down. It seems he wasn't too pleased about the turn of events in his backyard. We sat together for a while and I talked him down. Eventually the sun came up enough for some pictures. Look at this sky!



Beautiful, right? Shortly after, the sun peeked out down the street, and I got this shot of it glowing all over my son.


What an amazing morning. It's still pouring off and on, making us rethink our day a bit. I have a fundraising event to stop by at this morning, where I'm certain they weren't anticipating this, but the theme park trip for this afternoon may be off. I don't mind -- I've been ready for this weather, and I'm happy it's here.
