Lucky girl that I am, I was given a "You Make My Day" award last week, by my darling friend Jen. While I've enjoyed a blog or two before, I fell in love with hers when she began it, and was inspired to finally begin one myself.

In the interest of "paying it forward," I would like to share my favorite blogs with all of you.

Perhaps it seems unoriginal to return the compliment to Jen, but I simply MUST! Her blog, Cheaper Than Therapy, is a daily highlight for me. Her musings about her family never fail to either make me laugh, smile or feel sentimental, and since I know them all in real life, it's even more special. You would do well to read her, too.

Another favorite is Home of the Lazy Dog. Ali is another husky lover, and it's always fun to read about her dog antics. She's also a lover of poetry, and I enjoy her weekly selections. I feel like my horizon broadens just a bit by taking in something creative that she shares.

More recently, I've found Amber at Life with the Ferrells. Her children are beautiful, and I'm especially enjoying the details of her experience as a mother of three with a newborn. Talk about your beautiful children! And she's got the photography skills to show it!

I won't copy any more of Jen's selections, but the Housewife Diaries that she loves has also become a fave of mine.

Lastly -- the first blog I ever knew and came to love: The Bleat by James Lileks. He's a newspaper man with an online column out in Minnesota. The Bleat is his personal blog where he shares anecdotes from his life, his hobbies and his family. Hubby and I enjoy reading anything he writes about, from trips to Target with his little girl, to radio talk shows he guested on to discuss politics or the world, or even old movies that he's watched and shares the highlights from. Check him out!

And there you have it -- my favorite (thus far) blogs! Thanks to each and every one for making each day more interesting, and often for making me smile.
